Greyhounds Make Great Pets will be holding a Memorial Bell Ceremony during the the greyhound gathering weekend in Dewey Beach, Delaware to honor the memory of our beloved departed greyhounds, other pets and family members. The annual ceremony will be on the beach in Dewey Beach. Please use the McKinley Street entrance and walk down to the beach. The ceremony will take place on Friday October 7, 2016 and will begin at 1 pm. The bell ceremony is a fundraiser for Long Island Greyhound Connection, Inc. in New York.
As the Memorial Bell Ceremony is held outdoors, in the event of inclement weather, please note the following schedule:
Ceremony Time: Friday October 7, 2016 beginning at 1 pm.
Rain Date: Saturday October 8, 2016 beginning at 9:30 am.
Names can be added to the list of those remembered during the GMGP Bell Ceremony for a donation of $10.00 per name. At the ceremony, you will receive an individual memorial certificate for each name. Those not attending Dewey can add an additional $4.00 to obtain their certificate(s) by mail. We ask that all forms and donations be received no later than September 29, 2016 in order to guarantee inclusion in the ceremony.
Memorial certificates will be presented directly after the ceremony on the beach. The certificates will also be available after the ceremony has ended at the Atlantic Oceanside Motel during Greyhound Studies regular vending hours in the event you missed picking up your certificate after the ceremony.
